MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE TORRANCE CITY COUNCIL
1. CALL TO ORDER
The Torrance City Council convened in a regular meeting on May 13, 2025, at 5:02 p.m . in the LeRoy J. Jackson Council Chamber, 3031 Torrance Blvd.

Present: Councilmembers Gerson, Kaji, Kalani, Lewis, Mattucci, and

Councilmember Sheikh.
Assistant City Manager Santana, City Attorney Sullivan, City Clerk Rebecca Poirier and other staff representatives 2 . FLAG SALUTE/ INVOCATION
The flag salute was led by Councilmember Lewis.,.
The non-sectarian invocation was given by Councilmember Mattucci.
3. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
No members of the public spoke.
4. CLOSED SESSION
The City Council immediately recessed to closed session at 5:05 p.m. to confer with the City Manager and the City Attorney on agenda matters listed under 4A) Conference with Legal Counsel - Anticipated Litigation, 4B) Conference with Legal Counsel -Existing Litigation 4C) Real Property - Conference with Real Property Negotiator, and 4D) Conference with Labor Negotiator -Litigation pursuant to California Government Code §54956.9(d)(2), California Government Code §54956.9(d)(1 ), California Government Code §54956.8, and California Government Code §54957.6.
Councilmember Sheikh joined the City Council meeting at 5:07 p.m.
The City Council reconvened in public session at 10:51 p.m. No formal action was taken on any item considered in closed session.
5. ADJOURNMENT
MOTION: Councilmember Gerson moved to adjourn the City Council meeting at 10:52 p.m. to Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. for closed session, with regular business commencing at 6:30 p.m. in the LeRoy J. Jackson Council Chamber. Councilmember Lewis seconded the motiori. The motion carried by a vote f 6-0 with Councilmember Kaji abstaining .
