RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation of the City Manager that City Council approve Councilmember Sheikh's request for excused absences for the June 3, 2025, June 10, 2025 and June 17, 2025 Council Meetings.

DISCUSSION
Councilmember Sheikh has requested excused absences for the June 3, 2025, June 10, 2025 and June 17, 2025 Council meetings with the following statement:
"Due to sudden and unexpected personal circumstances, I will miss the next two to three City Council meetings. In accordance with the provisions of City Charter section 403, I respectfully request the City Council’s permission to be excused from these City Council meetings. During this time, my family and I would greatly appreciate your thoughts and prayers." Under Section 403 of the Torrance City Charter, a City Council office is deemed vacant if a Councilmember misses all meetings within a 60-day period, unless excused absences are granted by the City Council upon receiving a formal request from the Councilmember. The purpose of this agenda item is for Your Honorable Body to approve Councilmember Sheikh's formal request for excused absences for the aforementioned Council meetings.
