I am writing to you today to voice my concern and need for the Hillside Overlay to be strengthened.
The words in 91.41.6a state that: The proposed development will not have an adverse impact upon the view, light, air and privacy of other properties in the vicinity
But, who defines “adverse”? It has not been with respect to the neighbors’ point of view in many of the applications in the past several years and this needs to change! The neighbors are the ones who are affected by projects that infringe on the criteria of The Hillside Overlay and the neighbors who should not have to see their views, their light, their air, and their privacy be diminished by each application that is approved because the intrusion is small to someone who does not have to look at the change every day.
If any small intrusion to my view by one property is allowed, then each time a “small” intrusion is allowed, I lose more and more of my view. Losing my view, bit by bit, is still losing the views that we understood to be protected. The views are part of the healthy living that I want to enjoy in my retirement. In addition, for my health, losing the air and light little by little is just as bad and maybe worse because these losses are not nearly as visible an issue. Worse also because as light and air are diminished, moisture can become an issue and lead to unrealized mold.
I want the hillside Overlay to be strengthened to support the existing resident’s right to not lose our views, light, air, nor privacy. This means that if there is an impingement on someone’s view, light, air and/or privacy, the permit shall not be approved unless agreement from all neighbors who may be impacted is obtained. Designs can be made to not impact the neighbors and this needs to start to be enforced.
Please stop allowing subjective interpretation of what is an intrusion to my views, air, light, and/or privacy. If any neighbor is affected and disputes the design, however small, the application shall not be approved.
Please come up with a way to strengthen the Hillside Overlay. There are a bunch of folks, including myself, that would be will ing to help get this done.

Re: “VAR22-00001 JEHAN MIR (RUKHSANA MIR)”, please deny the application for an exemption to the request for a variance at 417 Via Anita, Hollywood Riviera, Torrance Ca .
The “Hillside Overlay” was incorporated to protect views, privacy, and sunlight from being affected bu new construction. The proposed project at 417 Via Anita would grossly affect all three of these protections. Please do not set a precedent for others to attempt to circumvent this important ordinance.
Vote no on this attempt by Mr. Mir to destroy a long-time placid neighborhood I have enjoyed for 54 years.

I Live at 413 Via Anita, directly adjacent to the applicants of an exception mentioned above for a variance at 417 Via Anita.
On behalf of myself and my family, I would like to express my strong objection to the request for a variance on the project
VAR22-00001 JEHAN MIR (RUKHSANA MIR) because of its Intrusion, grossly and substantial negative impact on Light, Loss of Privacy, Air, view, and impact on our Land, and Investment Values.
Please, do not set a precedent for others to attempt to circumvent the importance of the "Hillside overlay" ordinance

Dear planning commission manager,
This application has been tried several time and has been denied and they keep trying it against Hillside Overlay laws and regulation.
We do not want breaking the Hillside Overlay laws and regulation. Once it is permitted to one person than it breaks the law and everyone is asking for the same rights.
When I was building my house neighbors were arguing for an inch above 14 feet so I had to stay below 14 inch to respect neighbors ideas.
I am totally against this proposal by Mrs. Mir and they should understand to respect the law and neighbors rights.
