MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE TORRANCE CITY COUNCIL
1. CALL TO ORDER
The Torrance City Council convened in a regular'meeting on June 10, 2025, at 5:01 p.m . in the LeRoy J. Jackson Council Chamber, 3031 Torrance Blvd.

Councilmembers Gerson, Kaji, Kalani, Lewis, and Mayor Chen Councilmembers Mattucci and Sheikh
Present: Assistant City Manager Chaparyan, City Attorney Sullivan, City Clerk Poirier and other staff representatives
2. FLAG SALUTE/ INVOCATION
The flag salute was led by Mayor Chen.
The non-sectarian invocation was given by Mayor Chen.
3. COUNCIL COMMITTEE MEETINGS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Councilmember Kalani announced Armed Forces Day Special Standing Committee .
4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Members of the public spoke.
Councilmember Mattucci joined the meeting at 5:04 p.m.
MOTION: Councilmember Kalani moved that immediate action is necessary and that the need to take action arose subsequent to the posting of the agenda. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Lewis and passed by 6-0 with Councilmember Sheikh absent.
5. CLOSED SESSION
The City Council immediately recessed to closed session at 5:06 p.m. to confer with the City Manager and the City Attorney on agenda matters listed under 5A) Conference with Legal Counsel -Existing Litigation, 5B) Real Property-Conference with Real Property Negotiator, 5C) Conference with Legal Counsel -Anticipated Litigation, 5B) Real Property -Conference with Real Property Negotiator, 5D) Conference with Legal Counsel -Anticipated Litigation, SE) Conference with Labor Negotiator and 5F) Conference with Legal Counsel -Initiation of Litigation -Litigation pursuant to Government Code §54956.9(d)(1 ), Government Code §54956.8, Government Code §54956.9(d)(2), Government Code §54956.9(d)(4), Government Code §54957.6 and California Government Code §54954.2(b)(2).
The City Council reconvened in public session at 9:19 p.m. No formal action was taken on any item considered in closed session.

6. ADJOURNMENT
MOTION: Councilmember Gerson moved to adjourn the City Council meeting at 9:20 p.m. to Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. for closed session, with regular business commencing at 6:30 p.m. in the LeRoy J. Jackson Council Chamber. Councilmember Gerson seconded the motion. The motion carried by a vote of 6-0 with Councilmember Sheikh absent.
