Launch of the City Academy of the Arts - Torrance
I’m happy to announce an exciting new component of the City’s Cultural Classes. I’d like to invite staff from the Torrance Cultural Services Division to come to the podium and tell us more about the new Academy of the Arts.

THE CITY ACADEMY OF THE ARTS - TORRANCE advanced a soft launch this summer with private lessons offered in four park buildings in Torrance, CA: Alta Loma Park, Greenwood Park, McMaster Park, Sea Air Golf Course. The full launch this Fall will include courses that teach higher- level skills that go beyond entry level classes in Theater, Art, Music, and Dance.
The Academy launches with a $35,000 grant from the National Endowment of the Arts and the Friends of the City Academy of the Arts – Torrance, a new not-for-profit organization developed to support the Academy’s goals.
In addition to the intermediate and advanced course options, the Academy has career path programs for Museum Preparators and Theater Technicians.
