Let me preface the following with the fact that I believe that such infrastructure jobs should be handled by the public rather than the private sector.
I am very much in favor of transitioning towards renewable and sustainable sources of energy. While solar is not the best method to achieve this, it is better than the constant reliance on other sources.
Ideally this would also lead to more considerations of nuclear power, as it is empirically the most efficient and safe method of energy production available.
