RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation of the City Clerk that City Council review applications and appoint members to fill vacancies on Commission on Aging, Environmental Quality and Energy Conservation, and Historic Preservation Commission. It should be noted that the Historic Preservation Commission has qualifications. The City Clerk will administer the Oath of Office to the newly appointed Commissioners who are present.
In the past, the City Council has delayed appointments if there were not sufficient applicants for any one commission.
FUNDING
None required.
DISCUSSION
All current and eligible certified individuals were notified of the vacancies by email. Public notices were posted on the City’s public notice boards, the City’s website, and the Daily Breeze.
The applications submitted for interviews with City Council were all verified to have met the criteria of being electors in the City of Torrance and have completed or are current on their Commission Certification Training. For current eligible Commissioners, applicants are current on Ethics AB 1234 and Non-Supervisory Harassment Prevention Training and on their Conflict of Interest Form 700 filing.
