RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation of the City Manager that City Council reconsider their action on December 2, 2025 regarding the Armed Forces Day Parade and Celebration.

DISCUSSION
On December 2, 2025, the City Council voted to relocate the 2026 Armed Forces Day Parade and Celebrations from Torrance Boulevard to the Torrance Municipal Airport, Zamperini Field.
Following that decision, the City has received community feedback expressing support for keeping the 2026 Parade on its historic Torrance Boulevard route, particularly in recognition of America’s 250th anniversary.
An oral request was made on December 9, 2025, asking staff to bring this item back for consideration, and the City Council provided concurrence. It is the recommendation of the City Manager that the City Council reconsider their action on December 2, 2025 regarding the Armed Forces Day Parade and Celebration. This agenda item is only for a yes or no vote on whether to reconsider the matter. It is not a discussion of the merits of the location of the Armed Forces Day Parade and Celebration for 2026. If a majority of the City Council decides to reconsider the matter, then an agenda item to consider the merits of the matter will be brought back to City Council at a future date.
