RESOLUTION NO. 2026-XX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TORRANCE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
BRIGADIER GENERAL OMAR J. RANDALL
FOR SERVING AS GRAND MARSHAL OF THE
64TH ANNUAL ARMED FORCES DAY PARADE AND OBSERVANCE
WHEREAS, Brigadier General Omar J. Randall , a native of the Bronx, New York, has honorably served the United States Marine Corps since his commissioning in May 1996 through the Platoon Leaders Class, dedicating nearly three decades to the defense of our nation; and
WHEREAS, Brigadier General Randall has held numerous distinguished command assignments, including Commanding General of the 1st Marine Logistics Group, as well as leadership roles across Marine Expeditionary Units, Marine Divisions, and Logistics Regiments, demonstrating exceptional leadership and commitment to mission readiness; and
WHEREAS, throughout his career, Brigadier General Randall has served in critical staff and joint assignments, including positions with the United States Central Command and Headquarters U.S. Marine Corps, contributing to strategic logistics planning and operational excellence in support of global military operations; and
WHEREAS, Brigadier General Randall has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and other key missions, exemplifying courage, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to duty in defense of freedom; and
WHEREAS, his extensive military education, including Expeditionary Warfare School, Command and Staff College, Joint Professional Military Education, and service with the U.S. Agency for International Development, reflects his commitment to leadership development and global service; and
WHEREAS, Brigadier General Randall’s distinguished career and continued service as Commanding General, 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, represent the highest standards of excellence, honor, and patriotism embodied by the Armed Forces of the United States.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Counci l, on behalf of its members and the citizens of Torrance, California, express its appreciation to the 64th Annual Armed Forces Day and Parade Grand Marshal

who, by his presence, contributes honor and prestige to this annual patriotic event in the City of Torrance.
