A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TORRANCE, CALIFORNIA, HONORING
COUNCILMEMBER AURELIO MATTUCCI FOR HIS MANY
YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, Aurelio Mattucci was first elected to the Torrance City Council on June 5, 2018.
Following an ordinance adopted by the City Council to establish by -district elections for City Council offices, he was then elected to serve District 5 on June 7, 2022; and
WHEREAS, long before his election to the City Council, Councilmember Mattucci was an active member of the Torrance community, serving as Vice Chair of the Social Service Commission, a board member of the Torrance Rose Float Association , and a Watch Capt ain for the Torrance Police Department Neighborhood Watch , dedicating countless hours of service toward strengthening and improving the community; and
WHEREAS, as a councilmember, he served as the Chair of the Transportation Committee, a committee member of the Citizen Development Enrichment Committee, Community Planning and Design Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, and State Legislative Advocacy Committee; and
WHEREAS, throughout his service on City Council, he advanced efforts to support local businesses. Through initiatives such as the Torrance Passport Program and Pitch Torrance, he helped strengthen the local business community, encourage entrepreneurship, and showcase Torrance as a leading city for investment; and WHEREAS, among his many notable contributions, Councilmember Mattucci also made large efforts toward enhancing public spaces through the expansion of Torrance’s urban tree canopy, working with City staff to plant more than 7,000 trees over a 5-year period and helping to invest in landscaping throughout the community; and WHEREAS, Councilmember Mattucci consistently worked to address issues important to Torrance residents, supporting policies related to small businesses, community beautification, and safety, always ensuring the City’s interests were represented at the state and local level; and
WHEREAS, as a proud Torrance resident sin ce 1977, Councilmember Mattucci has shaped the community through his civic engagement, advocacy for local priorities, and years of public service.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Torrance, does herby commend and honor
COUNCILMEMBER AURELIO MATTUCCI
for his many years of dedicated service to the community.
