FUNDING

DISCUSSION
Miscellaneous Water Main Replacement, I-153 (“I-153 Project”) is an annual project to replace aging cast iron water mains with ductile iron water mains. Project locations are selected based on water main break frequency. This project would replace the existing cast iron water mains and increase the size of the mains to meet current demands on Crenshaw Blvd from 190th Street to Del Amo Boulevard, and on Del Amo Boulevard from Crenshaw Boulevard to Western Avenue.
On April 1, 2026, a Request for Proposals (RFP) for engineering design services for the I-153 Project was issued. Five proposals were received by May 15, 2026. The RFP included defined, weighted evaluation criteria. Each proposal was independently reviewed and evaluated by three staff members. The individual scores were averaged to determine the final rankings, which were posted on the PlanetBids website at least two weeks prior to tonight’s Council meeting. All participating vendors were notified of the results.
