Town Council Meeting January 23, 2024 Page 3 of 7
Town does not foresee having to close the park for special events, but any potential event would go through the special events review and permit application process. Staff has contacted the Washoe Tribe regarding the possibility of a name change in their honor.
o There is discussion about a naming contest for the park that will include public participation.
Lighting will comply with the current Town lighting ordinance. o Lighting would be programable and designed to illuminate walking paths and hardscape.
Resident parking stickers could potentially create more issues or inconvenience for the residents.
The Request for Proposal (RFP) language would not include the alternative design. o In future, if commercial development did not move forward, staff would make a recommendation to spend time planning what would be done with the areas where commercial development was identified on the plans.
o The goal is to complete the bulk of the project by the end of the construction season of 2024.
There are two locations on the site where interpretive signage is planned. There are three potential options for parking:
o Unregulated parking,
o Two-hour parking signs to encourage turnover,
o Installation of parking meters.

During a three-year term, the same set of tenants are not required to rent for the entire duration of the term.
The landlord/owner sets their requirements with the lease and will make the final selection of the tenant.
Calculations are not based on square footage; bedroom quantity is a more standardized measurement than square footage.
Current tenants would be required to wait until the renewal of their current lease to qualify for the program.

Lease to Locals participants will not be eligible for six months. After six months, the Lease to Locals participant could apply through Placemate. Non-Lease to Locals applications would be processed first. Create two budgets for the incentive payments: one for new participants, and one for previous Lease to Local participants.
