1. Call to Order: Mayor Polivy called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m.
2. Roll Call: Council Members; Romack, Klovstad, Henderson, Vice Mayor Zabriskie, and Mayor Polivy.
Absent: Council Member Henderson.
Staff Present: Dan Wilkins, Public Works Director/Town Engineer; Danny Renfrow, Chief of Police; Andy Morris, Town Attorney; Denyelle Nishimori, Community Development Director; Hilary Hobbs, Assistant to the Town Manager; Jen Callaway, Town Manager; and Kelly Carpenter, Town Clerk.
3. Pledge of Allegiance: deferred.
4. Public Comment: none.
5. Workshop Items
5.1 Teambuilding for Council and Town staff to discuss the decision-making process, Council norms, communications, budget timeline and revenues, Council meeting calendar, and review the 2023-2025 workplan.
Discussion Items:
Update on communications policy, status of refreshing Town brand and new website design.
Review of strengths and working genius assessment.
Review Council Norms.
o Add additional expectations to Council Member Interactions regarding mayoral roles. See attached Norms in track changes for additions. Discussion of budget timeline and Council meeting calendar. o Council meetings in July will be cancelled. Staff will evaluate whether to continue with full month recess in 2025.
Reaffirm Council Goals and 2023-2025 workplan.
o Additional considerations:
Reach out to Washoe tribe to choose the final name for West River Street park.
Council is open to revisit discussion on development code amendment regarding 20,000 square foot commercial space, but it is not a current priority.
Council Member Romack and Vice Mayor Zabriskie will work together with potential developer for Jibboom Street project to assess ability to utilize Truckee Home Access Program.
