1. Call to Order: Vice Mayor Klovstad called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m.
2. Roll Call: Council Members; Romack, Henderson, Polivy, Vice Mayor Klovstad, and Mayor Zabriskie.
Absent: Mayor Zabriskie and Council Member Romack.
Staff Present: Jen Callaway, Town Manager; Stephen Conway, Interim Administrative Services Director; Bonnie Thompson-Hardin, Human Resources Manager; Andy Morris, Town Attorney; and Sarah Ring, Deputy Town Clerk.
3. Pledge of Allegiance: Deferred.
4. Public Comment: None.
5. Workshop Item
5.1 Discussion of Extending Healthcare Benefits to Town Council Members.
Recommended Action: Receive information regarding healthcare benefit options for Town Council Members and provide direction to staff regarding possible benefit extension for a future discussion at a regularly scheduled meeting.
Bonnie Thompson-Hardin presented from the staff report (presentation on file with Town Clerk).
Council Discussion:
Detail for Dental or Vision were not provided by staff in the presentation. o These benefits are provided through a different plan. Council would qualify for the same benefits that a large number of the Town employees have.
Council would like a comparison of benefits offered by other local agencies in the future staff report.
Staff will research if Council is qualified for the same benefits as the Department Heads o It will depend on the number of people required to qualify as a large group. Council would like to see this item on the agenda for a meeting in January. o Staff is directed to bring a resolution to the January meeting. Council is interested in Options 1 and 4.
Council is interested in a full benefits package that includes vision and dental.
