I believe a new library would serve as a vital resource for the residents of Truckee, fostering education, creativity, and community engagement. The key reason for my support is the immense benefit that a modern library can offer to our children and youth. Enhanced access to learning resources, technology, and quiet study spaces promotes academic success and encourages a lifelong love of reading and learning. In an age where access to digital information is crucial, a state-of-the-art library can bridge the gap for all community members, ensuring that everyone has the tools they need to thrive.
Furthermore, a new library would be a community hub, providing a welcoming space for workshops, events, and programs that foster connection among residents. It can also support local artists, authors, and educators, helping to cultivate Truckee's unique cultural identity.
I urge the council to consider the long-term value and impact of this project and to vote in favor of moving forward with the library bond measure for November 2025. I am also willing to volunteer my time and efforts to help campaign for its passage, as I believe in the transformative power of a well -supported library.
