7.3 Hello council members, I am writing to encourage you to vote in favor of a library bond measure. As a mother of two young children in Truckee, we've spent many hours at the library! My four year old daughter requests library visits all the time, especially in the snowy months when there are few indoor spaces to spend our winter time. And though we love reading it's definitely not just about the books. We love bilingual story hour, crafts and special events, and practicing social skills by chatting with our librarian friends. The library is our safe, comfortable space where we connect with others, grow, and learn.
Building a new library will create even more opportunities for literacy, community, and play, with a space that better accommodates our growing community.
