Special Meeting
TULELAKE CITY COUNCIL
June 30, 2022 - 5:30 PM
Mayor Ebinger called the meeting to order at 4:02 PM. Mayor Pro Tem Penny Velador and Council Member Julia Pena were present. Council Members Bryan Hendricks and Teresa Williams were present via conference call. Also present were Chief of Police, Tony Ross; Director of Public Works, Jose Perez; City Hall Administrator, Jenny Coelho, and Officer Justin Anderson. City Administrative Clerk, Heidi Cureton was present in the office via conference call. Finance Director, Will Sargent; City Treasurer, Sara Luscombe and City Clerk, Raul Figueroa were absent.
COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC
Officer Justin Anderson gave the Council a medical update and let Council know that he intends to come back to work as soon as possible.
COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS AND/OR TULELAKE BASIN JOINT UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT UPDATE No representatives were present to give an update.
POSSIBLE CITY INCENTIVES TO OFFER A PHARMACY BUSINESS TO BE ESTABLISHED IN TULELAKE Council Member Williams told Council she was hoping to have some information, but her contact person did not get back to her before the meeting. She asked to have this agenda item tabled until the July 5, 2022, meeting.
APPOINTING AN INTERVIEW COMMITTEE FOR CHIEF OF POLICE POSITION No action was taken on this item.
CLOSED SESSION: POSSIBLE PUBLIC EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT (GOVERNMENT CODE $54957(B)(1)) TITLE: POLICE OFFICER APPLICANT
In open session, Mayor Ebinger made a motion to proceed with hiring Avery Fensler and for the City to send him through the academy class beginning July 5, 2022. Council Member Williams seconded. Motion carried. (Motion 22-119)
ADJOURNMENT
