Land Use and Zoning Code Update Workshop
TULELAKE CITY COUNCIL
August 15, 2023 - 4:30 PM
Mayor Pro Tem Cordonier called the workshop to order at 4:34 PM. Council Member Williams was present. Also in attendance were Finance Director, Will Sargent; City Hall Administrator, Jenny Coelho; Director of Public Works, Jose Perez and City Staff, Jazlyn Chavolla. City Planner, Richard Tinsman and Building Inspector, John Pemberton were present via conference call. Mayor Velador joined the workshop in person at 4:40 PM.
Coouncil Members Hendricks and Pena Larsen; City Treasurer, Sara Luscombe; City Clerk, Aissa Martinez and Chief of Police, Tom Hoy were absent.

DISCUSSION AND REVIEW OF PROPOSED DRAFT OF LAND USE ELEMENT AND ZONING
CODE UPDATES FOR THE CITY OF TULELAKE
City Planner, Richard Tinsman has done a tremendous amount of work in getting the Land Use Element and Zoning Code Updates done for the General Plan Update. There was a lot of discussion regarding Mixed-Use zoning and the types of businesses that can be operated within a Mixed-Use zone. There was a discussion regarding cell towers and what zoning would allow them. Richard Tinsman explained that if a business wants to be placed in a Mixed-Use zone that does not conform to the zoning guidelines that a Conditional Use Permit can be applied for and then presented to the City Council for approval. Richard Tinsman said the Land Use and Zoning Code Update report is now prepared for the next step of submitting for the environmental review and then will be brought before the City Council in a Public Hearing on October 3, 2023.

Mayor Pro Tem Cordonier made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:37PM. Mayor Council Member Williams seconded the motion. All votes were aye. Motion carried. (Motion 23-141)
