The City Council appoint Alexander James Garcia and Jessica Cure to the Planning Commission as recommended by the Ad Hoc Committee (Mayor Pro Tem Steve Bilderain and Council Member Octavious Scott).

BACKGROUND:
On May 23, 2023, two Planning Commissioners, Jason Dickson and Eileen Leslie, announced their resignations.
The City had previously advertised for the Planning Commission appointments on December 14 and December 21, 2022, with a closing date of January 12, 2023. The City received fifteen (15) applications, including applications from existing Commissioners Dickson and Walker. The term of a Planning Commissioner is four years.
Since it was less than six months from the last City advertisement, The City Council Ad Hoc committee reviewed the existing applications on file.
The terms of both of these appointees will expire in February of 2027, completing the terms of those Commissioners who resigned.
ENVIRONMENTAL:
Not Applicable.
ALTERNATIVES:
1. The City Council could modify the subcommittee's recommendation and continue to recruit for the vacancies.
2. Provide other direction to Staff.
