ROLL CALL AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Ukiah City Council met at a Special Meeting on August 1, 2024, having been legally noticed on July 31, 2024. The meeting was held in person
https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81246281760. Mayor Dueñas called the meeting to order at 4:35 p.m.
Roll was taken with the following Councilmembers Present: Mari Rodin, Juan V. Orozco, Susan Sher, Douglas, F. Crane (arriving at 4:45 p.m.), and Josefina Dueňas. Staff Present: Shannon Riley, Deputy City Manager; David Rapport, City Attorney; and Kristine Lawler, City Clerk MAYOR DUENAS PRESIDING.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilmember Orozco.
2. AUDIENCE COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS
No public comment was received.
3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
a. Discussion and Consideration of Adoption of Resolution in Support of a Ballot Measure Increasing the Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) by Three Percent (3%); Requesting the County Clerk to Consolidate the Election of Said Measure on the Ballot with the Statewide General Election of November 5, 2024; and Directing Staff to Develop and Submit the Associated Ballot Items.
Presenter: Shannon Riley, Deputy City Manager.
Motion/Second: Crane/Orozco to adopt the resolution in support of a ballot measure increasing the Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) by three percent (3%); requesting the County Clerk to consolidate the election of said measure on the ballot with the Statewide General Election of November 5, 2024; and directing Staff to develop and submit the associated ballot items, including a modification to the allot Argument as discussed [to delete second half of the sentence on the 5" bullet that reads ....which has already increased this revenue stream by more than double" by the following roll cal votes: AYES: Rodin, Orozco, Sher, Crane, and Dueñas. NOES: None. ABSENT: None. ABSTAIN:
None.
