RESOLUTION NO. 2025-XXX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
UNION CITY APPOINTING BARRY FERRIER TO THE
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY TEAM
WHEREAS, the Economic Development Advisory Team (EDAT) advises the City Council on economic development policies, programs, and initiatives; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Union City Municipal Code Section 2.40.060, a member’s seat is automatically vacated after three consecutive unexcused absences; and WHEREAS, on July 23, 2025, staff issued a notice to member Arun Coumar confirming that his seat was vacated for non-attendance; and WHEREAS, Government Code § 40605 states that “The Mayor, with the approval of the City Council, shall make all appointments to boards, commissions, and committees unless otherwise specifically provided by statute;” and WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the appointment of Barry Ferrier, a former EDAT member, to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Union City hereby appoints Barry Ferrier to the Economic Development Advisory Team for a term ending August 8, 2027.
