RESOLUTION NO. 2025-XXX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
UNION CITY APPOINTING AJ ASSEF, HARPREET KAUR,
PRAIRNA GUPTA GARG, DEEPTI GARG, AND MADHU
SINGH TO THE CLIMATE ACTION PLAN UPDATE TASK
FORCE
WHEREAS, on May 27, 2025, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2025-070 establishing the Climate Action Plan Update Task Force to advise on the Climate Action Plan (CAP) update process; and
WHEREAS, the Task Force consists of two City Councilmembers, one representative each from the Planning, Human Relations, and Parks and Recreation Commissions, and two at-large community members; and
WHEREAS, Government Code § 40605 states that “The Mayor, with the approval of the City Council, shall make all appointments to boards, commissions, and committees unless otherwise specifically provided by statute;” and WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the appointment of AJ Assef and Harpreet Kaur as the two at-large community members; and
WHEREAS, the following individuals have been nominated by their respective commissions and are forwarded for City Council consideration and approval:
Planning Commission Representative: Prairna Gupta Garg Human Relations Commission Representative: Deepti Garg Parks & Recreation Commission Representative: Madhu Singh; and WHEREAS, all appointments will expire on December 31, 2030, in accordance with the term of service established for the Climate Action Plan Update Task Force.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Union City hereby appoints AJ Assef, Harpreet Kaur, Prairna Gupta Garg, Deepti Garg, and Madhu Singh to the Climate Action Plan Update Task Force for terms ending December 31, 2030.
