PROCLAMATION
In Recognition of September 2025 as Hunger Action Month WHEREAS, September is recognized across the nation as Hunger Action Month, a time to raise awareness and inspire action to address food insecurity in our communities; and
WHEREAS, the high cost of living in the Bay Area means that many families and individuals must make difficult choices between paying for food, rent, health care, and other basic needs; and
WHEREAS, Union City acknowledges the struggles of those facing hunger and food insecurity and encourages residents to lend a helping hand by supporting local organizations that provide food and assistance to those in need; and
WHEREAS, the City appreciates and recognizes the vital work of community groups such as TCV Food Bank + Mobile Pantry, Daily Bowl, Centro de Servicios, and many others who are committed to fighting hunger in our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gary Singh, Mayor of the City of Union City, on behalf of the City Council, do hereby proclaim September 2025 as Hunger Action Month in the City of Union City and encourage all residents to join in raising awareness and supporting efforts to end hunger in our community.
