PROCLAMATION
Recognizing Michael Shabaka, Ph.D. for his
Support of Manufacturing Day 2025
WHEREAS, Manufacturing Day is an annual national event that celebrates the important role manufacturers play in strengthening local economies and inspiring the next generation of makers and innovators; and
WHEREAS, the City of Union City is proud to partner with the New Haven Unified School District and local businesses to offer students hands-on experiences that highlight careers in modern manufacturing; and WHEREAS, Michael Shabaka, Ph.D., is a proud graduate of Logan High School and has consistently participated in Union City Manufacturing Day to inspire and motivate students to pursue careers in manufacturing; and
WHEREAS, Michael is Director of Sales and Innovation for Manex consulting with over 20 years of business development, sales and marketing experience, spanning several industries including biotech, high tech and more, has provided technical assistance to Union City businesses over many years enhancing business operations and productivity; and
WHEREAS, Michael, by example, reflects the quality of education delivered by Logan High School, the generosity of giving back to the community, and inspiring a new generation of graduates to become leaders in our community and the world.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gary Singh, Mayor of the City of Union City, together with the entire City Council, do hereby recognize and commend
Michael Shabaka, Ph.D.
for his invaluable contributions to Union City businesses and Manufacturing Day 2025 and his ongoing dedication to advancing local industry, education, and community partnership.
