SUBJECT: Adopt a Resolution Approving an Amendment to Update the Class Specifications for the Classifications of Preschool Site Supervisor I
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution to approve an update of the class specifications for the classification of Preschool Site Supervisor I.
STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT
This program supports Goal B. Governance and Organization Effectiveness of the strategic plan in aligning critical city services with current staffing levels.
BACKGROUND
As part of a review of the classification of the Preschool Site Supervisor I job duties and the needs of the City's Community and Recreation Services Department to align position functions with appropriate qualifications and experience expectations, staff recommends minor modifications to the classification specification/job description.
DISCUSSION
The proposed classification specification includes slight modifications to align qualifications, experience, and skills expected for the roles and removal of outdated requirements and terms. The goal is to provide clarity on essential functions, articulate the class characteristics, clarify the minimum educational and experience qualifications, and identify any certifications during the subsequent recruitment.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact from the proposed position specification changes.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached resolution to approve an amendment to the City’s Classification and Compensation Plan to update the class specification/classification of Preschool Site Supervisor I.
