RESOLUTION NO. 2025-XXX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
UNION CITY APPOINTING COUNCILMEMBER
___________ AS VICE MAYOR FOR CALENDAR YEAR
2026
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.04.080 of the Union City Municipal Code, the City Council is required to choose one of its members to serve as Vice Mayor annually, with such selection to occur on the second Tuesday in December or as soon thereafter as practicable; and
WHEREAS, the Vice Mayor presides over City Council meetings in the absence of the Mayor and assumes all the powers and duties of the Mayor when necessary; and WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the importance of this role in ensuring leadership continuity and effective governance; and
WHEREAS, on December 9, 2025, the City Council nominated and voted to appoint Councilmember _____________ to serve as Vice Mayor for the calendar year 2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Union City as follows:
1. The City Council hereby appoints Councilmember __________________ as Vice Mayor for the calendar year 2026.
2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
