Dear Thai
This letter is submitted on behalf of Parks and Recreation Commissioners requesting a revision to the current policy requiring 72 hours' notice for an excused absence from commission meetings.
Due to the nature of the commissioners' varying work schedules—many of which allow for flexibility but also involve last-minute changes—it has become increasingly difficult to consistently provide the required 72 hours' notice. The commissioners respectfully request that the policy be amended to allow 24 hours' notice for an excused absence.
This change would help ensure that commissioners can remain in compliance with attendance expectations while navigating unpredictable work demands. The commissioners remain fully committed to their responsibilities and will continue to make meeting attendance a top priority.
Please let us know if this request must be submitted through a formal process or added to a future agenda for consideration.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
