EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Rush Truck Center to purchase a recommended replacement vehicle, in the amount of $76,000. Following the purchase of the new truck, the existing vehicle will be taken out of service, declared surplus, and disposed of in accordance with the provisions of the City’s Municipal Code Section 2.32.130.

STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT
This agenda item is aligned with the following:

Goal D, Strategy 2: Environmental Sustainability and Infrastructure – Implement the City’s capital improvement plan.

Goal D, Strategy 9 Environmental Sustainability and Infrastructure – Transition the UC Transit fleet to zero emissions.

BACKGROUND
As part of the City’s ongoing vehicle replacement program, staff have determined that the vehicle listed in the table below is no longer serviceable for municipal use.

NO. UNIT YEAR MAKE MODEL MILEAGE AGE VIN
1 505 2007 FORD F-150 127,229 19 1FTPF12587KC47244
Given the vehicle's age and mileage, continued use in the City’s fleet is not recommended, as it creates reliability issues and higher maintenance costs, including challenges in sourcing suitable replacement parts.

DISCUSSION
The following vehicle is recommended to be replaced:
1) Unit 505, a 2007 Ford F-150 Truck, used by Public Works staff -- recommend replacement with a new 2025 Ford F-250 Truck.

The Public Works Fleet Division received a proposal for a new 2025 Ford F-250 Truck from Rush Truck Center of Ceres, California, in the amount of $76,000. Vehicle purchases are available under a Sourcewell cooperative agreement, government purchasing contract #032824-RTG. Sourcewell ensures competitive pricing through a national request-for-proposals process that leverages the purchasing power of member agencies and streamlines procurement, enabling the City to purchase discounted vehicles through Sourcewell-awarded contracts.

The vehicle is in stock and delivery is expected within a month of purchase.

FISCAL IMPACT
Funds for the purchase order for the recommended replacement vehicle, in the amount of $76,000, are available in the Fleet Replacement Fund budget (Account Number 613- 35004-57140).
