PROCLAMATION
Recognizing March 2026 as
Women’s History Month
WHEREAS, Women’s History Month is observed each March to honor the many contributions women have made throughout history and to recognize their lasting impact on our community, our nation, and the world; and
WHEREAS, the 2026 theme, “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future,” highlights the leadership of women in building strong communities, advancing education, protecting the environment, and promoting long-term solutions that benefit future generations; and
WHEREAS, women have led important efforts in government, business, science, healthcare, education, and civic life, often overcoming barriers and creating new opportunities for others; and
WHEREAS, women in Union City continue to shape a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable future through service, mentorship, innovation, and community leadership.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gary Singh, Mayor of the City of Union City, and on behalf of the entire City Council, do hereby proclaim March 2026 as Women's History Month in the City of Union City and encourage all residents to celebrate and recognize the leadership and contributions of women who are shaping a sustainable future for our community.
