A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNION CITY ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM FIRST 5 ALAMEDA COUNTY, MEASURE
C – FIRST 5 EARLY CARE AND EDUCATION EMERGENCY GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000, INCREASING COMMUNITY AND
RECREATION SERVICES REVENUE PROJECTION FOR HOLLY
PRESCHOOL
WHEREAS, on November 24, 2025, the City of Union City began the application process for a grant from First 5 Alameda County to pay for the Community and Recreation Services Department, Holly Preschool early educators and assistance, buy supplies, and support general childcare operations; and
WHEREAS, on May 12, 2026, the City received notification of the award of a grant, in the amount of $50,000, Measure C – First 5 Early Care and Education Emergency (ECEE) Grant; and
WHEREAS, the funds will support the Community and Recreation Services Department to provide a stipend to the Holly Preschool early educators and assistance, purchase supplies, materials, and equipment, and for minor renovations; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Union City hereby accepts $50,000 from First 5 Alameda County, ECEE Program.
BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Union City hereby authorizes an increase in the revenue projections in the Holly Preschool First 5 Grant Fund, Account Number 24152031-44502 [CRS Fund, Licensed Pre-School Program, Miscellaneous County/Local Grant revenues] by $50,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Union City hereby authorizes an appropriation of $50,000 to the Holly Preschool First 5 Grant Fund.
