RESOLUTION NO. 2026-XXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNION
CITY APPROVING THE CITY OF UNION CITY INVESTMENT POLICY FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026-2027
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 53646 recommends that public agencies have their investment policy reviewed and approved annually by the local governing body at a public meeting; and
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 53646 also states that any change in the investment policy shall be considered by the governing body of the local agency at a public meeting; and
WHEREAS, the last time the City Council approved the City’s Investment Policy was November 26, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the proposed changes to the City’s Investment Policy aim to align with California Government Code Section 53601 regarding permitted investments and improve reporting data inputs for better monitoring of the Fixed Income portfolio's exposures and risks across security types, with other modifications being grammatical edits.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Union City hereby approves the City’s Investment Policy, attached hereto as Exhibit A and Exhibit B, demonstrating transparency and commitment to sound financial management.
