RESOLUTION NO. 2026-XXX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNION CITY
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A SECOND
AMENDMENT TO THE CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
STRATEGIC ECONOMICS, INC., FOR PREPARATION OF THE
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN, TO INCREASE THE
AGREEMENT AMOUNT BY $10,740, FOR A TOTAL NOT-TO-EXCEED
AMOUNT OF $141,878.40
WHEREAS, the Parties executed a Consulting Services Agreement for Preparation of the Economic Development Strategic Plan (“Plan”) with Strategic Economics, Inc. (“Consultant”) in the amount of $131,138.40 dated June 11, 2024 (Agreement No.
C25ECD0024); and
WHEREAS, the Parties executed a First Amendment to the Consulting Services Agreement on August 13, 2024, to allow the Consultant to examine confidential sales or transactions and use tax records of the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (Department) about sales or transactions and use taxes collected by the Department for the City; and
WHEREAS, the Parties desire to execute a Second Amendment to the Agreement to accommodate further refinement and incorporation of any additional feedback from the City Council prior to the finalization and adoption of the Plan. In addition, the scope provides for the Consultant to attend the City Council meeting where the Plan will be adopted; and
WHEREAS, the scope of work is labeled Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part hereof; and
WHEREAS, to reflect the increased scope of services, the Parties desire to increase the agreement amount by $10,740 for a total not-to-exceed amount of $141,878.40.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Union City authorizes the City Manager to enter into a Second Amendment to the Consulting Services Agreement, in a Form Approved by the City Attorney, with Strategic Economics, Inc. for preparation of the Economic Development Strategic Plan, to increase the agreement amount by $10,740, for a total not-to-exceed Amount of $141,878.40.
