RESOLUTION NO. 2026-XXX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNION CITY
AUTHORIZING TRANSFER OF UNCLAIMED MONIES TO THE
GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY PURSUANT TO CALIFORNIA
GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 50053
WHEREAS, pursuant to California Government Code Section 50050 et seq, the City completed the statutory requirements for the disposition of unclaimed monies by publishing notices once each week for two successive weeks, beginning June 5, 2026, and June 12, 2026, identifying July 20, 2026 as the date on which the unclaimed monies would escheat to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City did not receive any claims or written comments concerning the unclaimed monies on or before July 20, 2026; and
WHEREAS, unclaimed monies totaling $1,305,537.82 are deemed property of the City pursuant to California Government Code Section 50050; WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 50053, the City Council may authorize the transfer of unclaimed monies to the general fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Union City hereby authorizes the transfer of the unclaimed monies totaling $1,305,537.82 to the City's General Fund.
