NOTICE OF UNCLAIMED CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION DEPOSITS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Union City is holding unclaimed funds as set forth below.
These funds consist of Construction and Demolition (C&D) deposits associated with construction applicants who:
• Forfeited their deposit due to failure to meet recycling requirements; • Finalized construction and demolition activities but failed to provide required recycling documentation in GreenHalo; or
• Have no City record of participation in demolition debris compliance.
The deposits subject to this notice were collected between January 1, 2012, and December 31, 2021.
Pursuant to California Government Code § 50052, if these funds are not claimed by July 20, 2026, the funds shall become the property of the City of Union City.
Funds may be released to the depositor, heir, beneficiary, or duly appointed representative upon submission of a completed claim form and supporting documentation. Required documentation includes:
• Name, address, and telephone number of claimants;
• Proof of identity, such as a copy of a driver’s license, passport, permanent resident card, or birth certificate, accompanied by another form of photo identification; • Proof of business name and the individual’s relationship to the business at the time the Construction and Demolition deposit was established;
• Proof of the applicable construction and demolition permit listing the individual or business name referenced above;
• Proof that the individual or business complied with applicable recycling requirements associated with the Construction and Demolition deposit;
• Amount of claim; and
• Grounds upon which the claim is founded.
The Unclaimed Money Claim Form may be obtained from the City of Union City Finance Department located at:
