PROCLAMATION
Hunger Action Month
September 2026
WHEREAS, Hunger Action Month is observed each September to raise awareness of hunger and inspire people to help ensure that everyone has access to the food they need; and
WHEREAS, the 2026 theme, “Play Your Part,” reminds us that giving, volunteering, speaking up, and supporting local programs can make a meaningful difference; and WHEREAS, TCV Food Bank + Mobile Pantry provides groceries and food support throughout the Tri-City area, including mobile pantry service in Union City; and WHEREAS, Union City Family Center and Centro de Servicios help local students, families, and residents meet basic needs through food distributions, fresh produce, social services, and referrals; and
WHEREAS, the City of Union City thanks the staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners who work each day to help neighbors facing hunger.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Union City does hereby proclaim September 2026 as Hunger Action Month; recognize TCV Food Bank + Mobile Pantry, Union City Family Center, and Centro de Servicios for their service to our community; and encourage all residents to “Play Your Part” in the fight against hunger.
