PROCLAMATION
California Clean Air Day
October 7, 2026
WHEREAS, the Coalition for Clean Air will bring communities together for the ninth annual California Clean Air Day on October 7, 2026; and WHEREAS, in Union City, clean air helps children play outdoors, older adults stay active, and families enjoy our parks and neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, Union City supports cleaner air through public transit, transit-friendly development, walking and biking, renewable energy, and resource conservation; and WHEREAS, residents can help by riding Union City Transit, walking or biking, saving energy, reducing waste, and avoiding vehicle idling.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Union City does hereby proclaim October 7, 2026, as California Clean Air Day and invites residents to take the Clean Air Pledge to help keep our community healthy and vibrant.
