1. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 6:20 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
Present: Mayor McConnell, Vice Mayor Verder-Aliga, Councilmembers Arriola, Bregenzer, Loera-Diaz, Matulac, and Palmares
Absent: None
Staff present: City Manager Malone, City Attorney Nebb and City Clerk Abrahamson
3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
City Attorney Nebb reported Council provided direction to its legal counsel with respect to Closed Session Items 3A and 3B.
4. ACTION CALENDAR
A. VALLEJO POLICE DEPARTMENT STAFFING AND RESPONSE FOR
SERVICE UPDATE
Recommendation: Receive report. There is no action or staff report associated with this item.

City Manager Malone provided introductory comments.
Chief Ta provided an update on police staffing, recruitment and resignations, response times and call priorities, calls for service, and crime stats, discussed the consequences of continued staffing losses, morale and accomplishments despite challenges, outlined recommended next steps and ongoing department support and relationship building items, and concluded the presentation reviewing possible California Department of Justice Collaborative Agreement possible outcomes.

Staff responded to questions from Councilmembers. Councilmembers provided comment.
