Tony Chu, City of Vallejo Traffic Engineer, and Mitch Romao, VCUSD Assistant Superintendent of Operations, presented information and feedback from the surrounding neighbors of Vallejo High School. Mr. Chu reported no significant incidents occurred during the closure. To make it permanent, there may be some regulations to follow. Mr. Romao said the street (Nebraska) must be closed down permanently during school hours. Mr. Romao said as soon as the barricades were taken away, cars began to immediately speed down Nebraska Street. Mr. Romao said another driver who had his mother's car was speeding down Nebraska, lost control and ran into a fence. Mr. Romao said the property damage that occurs to our district is overwhelming.
