Dear Councilwoman Gordon,
Of course! I don’t mind responding right away when I’m not too busy. When your emails came in, I was actually just taking a break from working on my YouTube documentary about Pearl’s case, so the timing was perfect.

Thank you again for thinking of me and for your kindness. It truly means a lot to me. I will definitely wear it, and I really appreciate it.

Warmly,

Dear Councilwoman Gordon,
Thank you so much. I just read your email and your kind words truly mean so much to me and my family. I really hope that when I speak on Tuesday, everyone will truly understand who Pearl was, not just as a missing person, but as a beautiful young girl with a life, a personality, dreams, and a family who loves and continues to fight for her.

I also hope they understand why these plaques are so important. They aren’t important only to Pearl or to our family. They are important to our beautiful community. Pearl’s story is a part of Vallejo, and I believe having her name permanently recognized in the places connected to her story will help keep her memory alive, remind people that she has never been forgotten and to help prevent child abduction. It also means so much to know that you are personally bringing this request forward and asking your colleagues for their support in having the City of Vallejo cover the costs of the two plaques, including their purchase and installation. I truly appreciate you making sure there is clear understanding moving forward, especially with the transition to the new City Manager.

Your words about Pearl not being forgotten touched my heart deeply. After more than ten years of searching for answers and fighting to bring my sister home, hearing that her name, her memory, and the hope of bringing her home still matter to our community means more than I can put into words. Thank you for seeing Pearl, remembering Pearl, and helping us continue to 4 of 8
keep her story alive.

Thank you again for everything you are doing for Pearl, our family, and our community. I’m truly grateful for your support, your compassion, and for giving us the opportunity to make sure Pearl’s story continues to be heard.

,
○ I read the your speech down below. Your speech was so surreal.

Just so you know, I got unapologetically emotional, while reading, because I really felt your heart
.
○ I will be asking our Council City's Clerk to add your speech to the record to Tuesday's Agenda as you ask.
○ Also I want you to know that, I will be asking my colleagues to support having the City of Vallejo cover the costs of the two plaques honoring Pearl, including their purchase and installation. I know this request has been made before, but with the transition to our new City Manager Harry Black, I want to make sure there is clear confirmation and understanding moving forward. Because these 2 special locations are in District 6, I feel it is important that I personally bring this request forward. My colleagues have already received the full email outlining the request, however tonight I will give a brief summary for the record  in asking for their support.

Most importantly, Rose, I want you and the Pinson Family to know 5 of 8

Good evening, Mayor and members of the City Council.

My name is Rose Pinson Rodriguez, and I’m Pearl Pinson’s Sister. I’ve stood here before and share with you about Pearl and asked you to consider creating and installing two plaques in her honor.

Tonight feels different because now we are here to hear your decision.

Honestly, I don’t really know what to say because this means so much to my Family. 6 of 8
These plaques may seem like just two plaques, but to us, they mean so much more.

They would be a reminder that Pearl was here. That she was loved. That she mattered  and that she has never been forgotten.

Pearl was so much more than what happened to her. She was my little Sister.

She loved drawing, music, and skateboarding. She had dreams and goals she wanted to reach. She had her whole life ahead of her.

As we stand here wearing our green and purple in honoring, Pearl had a unique style. She had her own way of expressing herself, like her green-dyed hair that she fell in love with because of her love for the Joker. She wasn’t afraid to be herself, and that’s something I will always remember about her.

Pearl also loved helping others. She always tried to see the good in everyone she came across. She had a heart that wanted to believe there was good in people.

That is the Pearl I want people to remember.

Not just the missing girl. Not just her name in the news.

But Pearl the daughter, sister, friend, and young girl who had dreams and a whole future ahead of her.

It has been ten years since Pearl disappeared, and we are still searching for her.

If these plaques are approved, they will give Pearl a permanent place in the community where she grew up. They will help keep her name and her story alive and remind people that she is still missing.

But I also hope these plaques can become something bigger than just remembering Pearl.

I hope they can help educate and remind our community about child safety and ways we can help prevent another family from experiencing what ours has gone through.

Pearl’s story should not only remind us of what happened. I hope it inspires us to protect our children, teach them about safety, pay attention to the people and situations around them, and speak up when something doesn’t feel right.

If even one child is safer because someone saw Pearl’s plaque, learned something from her story, or decided to speak up, then that gives her story another purpose.

I want Pearl to be remembered for who she was, but I also want her story to help make a difference for others.

I want to Thank you everyone who has supported my family and helped us get to this point.
7 of 8
And I want to thank Council Woman Gordon for listening to us, supporting this request, and helping bring it forward so that Pearl can be remembered in the community where she grew up.

I want to thank the City Council for listening to us and taking the time to consider honoring my sister.

No matter what happens tonight, I am grateful that Pearl’s name is being remembered here.

Pearl may have disappeared ten years ago, but she has never disappeared from our hearts.

I will continue to say her name, tell her story, and search for her for as long as it takes.

And I hope that one day, when people see Pearl’s name on these plaques, they won’t only remember the girl who disappeared.

They’ll remember the girl who was loved.

The girl who had dreams.

The girl who had her own unique style and wasn’t afraid to be herself.

The girl who always tried to see the good in others.

And the girl whose story continues to inspire us to protect others.

Again, Thank you for listening, and thank you for remembering my sister, Pearl.
