Acting City Manager Akbar Alikhan provided the following updates:
• Holiday Closure: City Hall closed the last week of December and back after the New Year in 2023
• Next Regularly Scheduled City Council Meetings: January 9, 2023, January 23, 2023, and January 28, 2023 - City Council Goal Session
FORMAL ITEMS: The public may comment on each item listed on the agenda for Formal Items as the item is taken up. Formal Items may be reordered at the discretion of the Chair. The public may speak up to three (3) minutes on each agenda item.
1. Consideration to Terminate Billing of Fees and Refund Property Owners Included in the Fire Hazard Reduction Program (FHRP) Staff: Akbar Alikhan, Acting City Manager

RECOMMENDATION
a. Authorize the Acting City Manager to terminate the current Fire Hazard Reduction Program billing process and cease charging fees for inspections to property owners.
b. Authorize the Finance Department to refund all fees that have been paid pursuant to the Fire Hazard Reduction Program.
c. Authorize the Finance Department to increase appropriations within the Fire Department budget from General Fund Unassigned Fund Balance to cover all costs associated with the Fire Hazard Reduction Program. d. Authorize the Finance Department to analyze and execute methods for quickly and efficiently refunding monies already obtained from the billing process in a cost-effective manner.
