A PROCLAMATION OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON COMMENDING GEORGE C. RUIZ FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF SERVICE TO
THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, George C. Ruiz, has been a dedicated employee of the Ciiy of Vernon for over six years and faithfully performed his duties as a public servant since being hired on April 30, 2018; and WHEREAS, George met the eligibility requirements under CaIPERS to retire from the City of Vernon effective September 5, 2024 as a Facilities Maintenance Worker for the Public Works Department; and WHEREAS, during his career, George has played an important role in numerous City projects, including the beautification of the City of Vernon. His responsibilities included maintaining the grounds of City Hall and City-owned housing, ensuring facilities remained well-kept and inviting for residents and visitors.
WHEREAS, George consistently ensured the smooth operation of City Hall by overseeing landscaping and cleaning efforts and stepping in as a handyman whenever necessary. His dedication, reliability, and attention to detail have had a lasting positive impact on both the appearance and functionality of our City's key spaces.
WHEREAS, during his long and distinguished career in public service, George earned the deepest respect of his colleagues through his dedication, contributions, and knowledgeable expertise and commitment to the Public Works Department. George was an exemplary employee and will be truly missed.
WHEREAS, we congratulate and express our appreciation to George for his commendable service to the City of Vernon and wish George good health upon his retirement and for continued success in life's pursuits.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, ON BEHALF OF ITS EMPLOYEES, RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES HEREBY COMMEND AND THANK GEORGE C. RUIZ FOR HIS YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY. THIS PROCLAMATION IS BEING PRESENTED TO GEORGE C. RUIZ BY THE HONORABLE MAYOR JUDITH MERLO FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON THIS 5th DAY OF NOVEMBER TWO THOUSAND AND TWENTY-FOUR.
