A PROCLAMATION OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON COMMENDING RUBEN RODRIGUEZ FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF SERVICE
TO THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, Ruben Rodriguez, has been a dedicated employee of the City of Vernon for over fifteen years and faithfully performed his duties as a public servant since being hired on August 4, 2009; and WHEREAS, Ruben meets the eligibility requirements under CaIPERS to retire from the City of Vernon effective December 30, 2024, as a Power Resources Settlement Analyst, Senior; and WHEREAS, Ruben has played an important role in ensuring system reliability, maintaining consistent service, and delivering excellent customer support throughout his distinguished career; and WHEREAS, Ruben began his journey with the City as a Systems Coordinator I. In this position, he contributed significantly to industry-leading reliability, ensuring uninterrupted service and timely outage restoration; and was dedicated to providing safe and clean water at appropriate pressures while delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients; and WHEREAS, as the Power Resources Settlement Analyst, Senior, Ruben contributed to the Public Utilities Department by reviewing, verifying and processing CAISO invoice settlements; reviewing, verifying and settling bilateral gas trades, renewable Power Purchase Agreements, and resource adequacy transactions; and preparing monthly reports for energy cost adjustments and Renewable Portfolio Standard pass-through billings; and
WHEREAS, during his long and distinguished career in public service, Ruben has earned the deepest respect of his colleagues through his dedication, contributions, and knowledgeable expertise and commitment to the Public Utilities Department; and
WHEREAS, we congratulate and express our appreciation to Ruben for his commendable service to the City of Vernon and wish Ruben good health upon his retirement and for continued success in life's pursuits.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, ON BEHALF OF ITS
EMPLOYEES, RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES HEREBY COMMEND AND THANK RUBEN RODRIGUEZ FOR HIS YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY. THIS PROCLAMATION IS BEING PRESENTED TO RUBEN RODRIGUEZ BY THE HONORABLE MAYOR JUDITH MERLO FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON THIS 21ST DAY OF JANUARY TWO THOUSAND AND TWENTY-FIVE.
