Update on “The BIG 4” Cities Built for Business
Recommendation
No action required by City Council. This is a presentation only.
Background
The BIG 4, a multi-jurisdictional coalition of industrial cities built for business, was created following approval of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the cities of Commerce, Santa Fe Springs, Industry and Vernon in late 2025. The MOU was established for the purpose of uniting efforts to advocate for, advance, and plan shared priorities to seek state and federal funding, and advocate for and advance legislative and administrative policies to address the unique needs and benefits that their industrial and commercial activities offer Los Angeles County and the State of California. On April 30, 2026, The BIG 4 hosted their inaugural summit bringing together brokers, retailers, logistics leaders, real estate developers, and business and community stakeholders from across Southern California for a full day of strategic conversation, industry insight, and networking. Staff will provide an update to the City Council on The BIG 4’s progress to date.
