NOTICE OF CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING
The City Council of the City of Vernon will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. (or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard) which you may attend at Vernon City Hall, City Council Chamber, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, CA 90058 to:
Consider Adoption of the 2025 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) and the Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP)
On June 16, 2026, the City Council will conduct a public hearing to consider the adoption of the 2025 UWMP and WSCP. The purpose of the hearing is to consider public comments prior to recommending that the City Council adopt the proposed 2025 UWMP, including the proposed WSCP.
The proposed 2025 UWMP and WSCP are prepared in accordance with the California Urban Water Management Planning Act (Act). The Act requires the City, as an urban water supplier, to prepare and adopt an Urban Water Management Plan to analyze water management issues unique to its water service area, including local and imported water supply sources, forecasted water demands, water conservation issues, and water shortage contingency planning. The City is required to update its plan at least once every five years with last adoption by the City Council occurring in 2021.
All relevant documents will be available for public review on the City’s website once the agenda for the meeting is posted or from the City Clerk at [email protected] or (323) 583-8811, ext. 546. All interested persons will be given an opportunity to comment on the above-referenced items during the public hearing. In addition, written comment or questions may be submitted prior to the hearing as set forth below. Written Testimony or questions must be received prior to 9:00 a.m. on the date of the hearing.
