A PROCLAMATIO~1 OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON COMMENDING JOSE ZERMENO
FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY
WHEREAS, Jose Zermeno, has been a dedicated employee of the City of Vernon for more than twenty-one years, faithfully performing his duties as a public servant since being hired on May 16, 2005; and
WHEREAS, Jose meets the eligibility requirements under CaIPERS to retire from the City of Vernon effective July 9, 2026, as a Street Maintenance Worker; and
WHEREAS, throughout his tenure with the City of Vernon, Jose established himself as a dependable, hardworking, and valued member of the Street Maintenance Division, steadily expanding his contributions over the years to support a wide range of essential street maintenance operations; and WHEREAS, his expertise and dedication have been instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the City's infrastructure through essential concrete and asphalt repairs, sign installation, street striping, curb painting, and his important role as a key member of the City's Graffiti Crew; and WHEREAS, beyond his daily responsibilities, Jose demonstrated exceptional leadership through the training and mentorship of fellow employees, sharing his specialized knowledge and skills while fostering a culture of teamwork and cooperation through collaborative efforts with other City divisions, including Vernon Public Utilities and the Health Department during electronic waste (ewaste) collection events; and WHEREAS, we congratulate and express our appreciation to Jose for his commendable service and unwavering dedication to the community in the City of Vernon and wish Jose good health upon his retirement and for continued success in life's pursuits.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON, ON BEHALF OF ITS EMPLOYEES, RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES HEREBY
COMMEND AND THANK JOSE ZERMENO FOR HIS YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY,
