County of Los Angeles Fire Department
Activity Report • City of Vernon
Incident Summary – July 2026
During the month of July 2026, emergency response units handled a total of 134 incidents, ranging from medical emergencies and structure fires to technical rescues and hazardous conditions. Medical calls accounted for the vast majority of unit deployments. Field personnel evaluated and treated 67 patients, resulting in 33 emergency medical transports.

Primarily driven by 66 medical calls and 49 good intent responses, alongside 8 fires, 8 alarms, and 3 rescue or service operations. Comprising 26 Basic Life Support and 7 Advanced Life Support transports.

Notable fire incidents included several contained outside and vehicle fires, a minor commercial structure fire caused by spontaneous combustion, and a major 3rd-alarm commercial building fire on Hampton Street requiring extensive defensive operations and multi-agency coordination.

Medical teams also responded to four critical fatalities involving cardiac arrests and significant trauma, alongside specialized calls involving vehicle extrication and a hazardous liquid oxygen tank leak.

Overall, July activity highlights the continued need for strong EMS/ALS capacity. Community outreach could help reduce recurring fire incidents.
