Resignation from Interagency Council on Homelessness

City Council members,
My name is Mary Alexander and I am a 33 year resident of the City of Victorville. I am also involved in several initiative in the High Desert region that impact families and people of color. One of the initiatives is related to solutions to eradicate the homeless crisis in the High Desert region.

I am concerned that the withdrawal from the Interagency Council on Homelessness will create adverse consequences in solving the homeless crisis within our region. All voices are needed to impact change.

The residents of the High Desert have suffered long enough with the impact of homelessness, lack of adequate resources in Health Care, and mental health services affecting the surrounding communities in our region.

I am publicly requesting you vote No for the resignation from Interagency Council on Homelessness (ICH).

Voices from Victorville taxpayers must be heard!
Thank you for your consideration.

Mary Alexander

City Council members,
My name is Janis Pressley and I am a new resident (less than one year) of the High Desert Community of
Apple Valley.

I also involved in several initiatives in the area that impact families and people of color in the
area. One of them is related to possible solutions to eradicate the homeless pandemic in the High Desert.

While, I do not live in Victorville, I do realize that as the largest community in the HD based on population,
representation matters.

The fact that Victorville wants to withdraw is a tragedy in itself. All voices are
needed to impact change. The residents of the High Desert have suffered long enough, the neighboring city of
Adelanto has been impacted with the infiltration of homeless people, closing of George Air Force base and
the lack of adequate resources in Health Care (Medical and Mental) services.

I am publicly asking that you vote NO for the resignation from Interagency Council on Homelessness (ICH)!
Voices from Victorville MUST be heard!
Thank you!
Janis Pressley
