RESOLUTION NO. 24-021
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VICTORVILLE AMENDING THE ANNUAL BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2023 -2024; APPROVING AN
ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF THE MEASURE P FUND FOR THE PURCHASE
OF REAL PROPERTY FOR A POLICE STATION AND CIVIC PLAZA
WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Victorville did heretofore submit to the City Council an estimate of the expenditures and revenues of the City departments and offices, together with a proposed budget for the fiscal year 2023-2024; and
WHEREAS, copies of said budget were prepared and distributed to the City Council, were approved by the City Council on June 6, 2023, and have been available for the inspection by the public in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Victorville; and
WHEREAS, on May 18, 2022, the City issued a Request for Proposals for Design Services for the Design and Construction of a New Police Station and Civic Plaza and to identify the best suitable site for the New Police Station and Civic Plaza;
WHEREAS, among the sites identified for the New Police Station and Civic Plaza were Assessor Parcel Numbers (“APNs”) 3106-261-15, 3106-261-16, 3106-261- 17, and 3106 -261-18 encompassing approximately 9.18 acres, now referred to as (“Properties”);
WHEREAS, on February 26, 20 24, the City submitted a non -binding Offer to Purchase (letter of intent ) to the owners of the Properties, known as the Brentwood Mortgage 147, LLC (“Seller”), in the amount of Two Million Five -Hundred Thousand Dollars ($2,500,000.00) and Seller accepted the City’s Offer to Purchase;
WHEREAS, the fiscal year 2023-2024 budget requires amending the expenditures in the amount of Two Million Five Hundred Seventy -Five Thousand Dollars ($2,575,000.00), to fund the acquisition of said APNs and pay for escrow related costs, to acquire the Properties from the Seller and design and construct the New Police Station and Civic Plaza;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VICTORVILLE DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the annual budget for fiscal year 2023-2024 for the City of Victorville be hereby amended to reflect a change in the amounts and associated accounts listed below and as described in the corresponding Agenda Item.

SECTION 2. That copies of such amended budget, certified by the City Clerk, shall be filed with the auditors of the City of Victorville and in the office of the City Clerk for public inspection and certified copies thereof shall be made available for use by City departments, offices and subsidiary districts of the City.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
