The chart below reflects the distribution of Sales Tax to Macerich since the inception of the Sales Tax Agreement in 2013. There is a steady gain in activity from 2013 until 2016.
This has been followed by several years of decline which have been primarily a loss of sales to online retailers. Total amount paid through 20 22 is $2,900,205.22 and with the approval of council for this payment, the total through 202 3 would be $ 3,260,879.22 of the maximum $18.89 million threshold with 17 years remaining in this agreement.
