November 5, 2024, General Municipal Election Results
Recommendation:
That the City Council adopt Resolution No. 24-104 declaring the results of the November 5, 2024, General Municipal Election.
Fiscal Impact:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the acceptance of the declared election results.
The actual cost of the election will be determined upon receipt of the final invoice from the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters.
Discussion:
On November 5, 2024, a Consolidated General Municipal Election was held for the purpose of filling three (3) full-term City Council member seats, one for District 1, one for District 3, and one for District 5.
The San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters has canvassed the returns of the votes cast in the November 5, 2024, election and presented the Certified Election Results to the City, verifying that the voters elected Tiffany Gaudin to District 1, Elizabeth “Liz” Becerra to District 3 and Leslie Irving to District 5 to the Victorville City Council for full four-year terms.
The election was conducted in accordance with the Elections Code of the State of California. In addition to reciting facts related to the canvass of returns and certification of results, the attached resolution formalizes the process of declaring the results of the aforementioned election pursuant to the Elections Code.
